Ahoy Matey!
I was lucky enough to have an opportunity to debut some of my cupcakes with a custom design for a 5th birthday party this past weekend. The highlight of the display were the little pirate faces made with red, white and black fondant raised up on a couple of cake stands.
Red Velvet Cupcakes with Meyer Lemon and Vanilla Cream Cheese Frosting
Below is the full display of the 75 cupcakes which include custom "5" cupcakes for the birthday recipient, along with single coins propped on top to show off the pile of gold in the middle.
I was one of the lucky guests who sampled one of the cute pirate cupcakes. The pirate faces and the numbers on the cupcakes were darling. I thought to myself that the cake and frosting probably weren't all that great since all the time seemed to be spent on the artwork. I was so wrong! The frosting was so creamy! (Cream cheese frosting is my favorite...YUM!) The Red Velvet cake was divine! I would recommend Marie's cakes to anyone. I can't wait to have her make my daughter's birthday cake next month. My mouth is watering just thinking out it!
